"Creativity is not a linear career path" | 1/29/21

Sooo....I hit a wall at like 4:15 am yesterday. Went to sleep & then woke up at 7 and got ready for work. But as is unfortunately seemingly the case recently, I ate out again for breakfast on the way to work. This time at Taco Bell. I reeeally need to STOP! Once I got to the office though I got in the zone for the 1st couple of hours and then had meetings literally the entire day, from 11 - 6:30 pm. Had a solid 90 min chat with Alex about many deep topics so glad that I was able to open up more with him.

Then came home - OH - there was something(?) going on at 77 at 485 b/c I couldn't take the normal 485-S exit from 77 so I had to GPS it back home. That ended up taking 45+ min so didn't get back until 7:45ish. I listened to tUG on the way back as well & funny enough, the guests were Annika & Nehal from The Woke Desi. It's beneficial to continue getting different perspectives on topics that I may not have thought about at all or thought about in that way if I had gone somewhere else to learn abou.t Learned a few good tips on podcasting as the guests were a year+ ahead of tUG hosts. Some of those things were being accountable for your words, getting the facts straight & doing proper research & citing sources, receiving objective feedback from the 'producer' & knowing that you don't have to discuss everything there is on a specific topic. There will be more opportunities to do that. While they were talking about these things, I thought that for my podcast, it'd be great to eventually get guests on but my niche isn't necessarily providing the research to discuss not too often discussed topics like TWD's is. 1x1 convos are on my biggest strengths so I don't think I'd ever have / want a co-host. 🤷‍♂️

After I came home, did viz med, ate light dinner & just talked to Dak for a bit. Then relaxed and slept early at 10.

This time I got 6 hours of sleep so woke up at 4 & actually felt fresh. Was early enough but not too early.

OH. A quote that Annika said in the podcast that stood out was "Creativity is not a linear career path." Never thought of it like that. Boom. So true tho.
