Do External Triggers Serve Me Or Do I Serve Them? | 9/21/21

Day 13 of Being Indistractable - Write down 2-3 activities I want to do in my work domain and rearrange my calendar to make time for them. Several places have told me to do this so it's definitely a sign that I should follow. Its that I should do the biggest, deepest, most important work of the day at the beginning. Robin Sharmas 90-90-1 thing of for 90 days, for the first 90 min of work, do the single most important thing. And then the advice I got yesterday as part of my Kolbe A results that said do the most important thing first before spending energy on smaller tasks. To help with that I need to write in my daily rock the day before so I know exactly the 1st thing I need to get done. All this momentum pushing me in a particular direction. It's the path of most ease and the most natural now, so just gotta go with this flow.

Day 14 of Being Indistractable - write down all the external triggers I experience in a typical day. Do they serve me or do I serve them? Having my phone even in sight is a clear external trigger, even if I'm not getting any notifications and even if it's on silent. Need to see if Slack notifications can be not only muted but the red circle on the desktop icon be hidden because that also is a recurring distraction in times of deep work. Those 2 are good to focus on for now and as I get better I can add more.
