Well...haven't journaled in a few days, nor have I posted content in that time frame and beyond. The same thing happened last year in September when I went to DC and I didn't get out of a funk for several weeks. At least this time it's only a week, or a bit less than that.
Adam did visit from Thursday - Sunday, so that had a big part in that. However, people visiting or myself visiting elsewhere should not be an excuse for me not doing my ideal routine. Or at least enough of it daily to keep myself functioning at the level that I want to. This test will keep happening until I can pass it, so let's hope next time I can do better on this test.
The rest of the weekend we did have plenty of fun - watched NCAA tournament, played ball (first time in over a year+), at majestically, played Pan Am, and learned many new things (like Clippers coaches, Bathurst being the former name of Banjul, among other factoids).
Pragya and I were chatting recently about how we can become different versions of ourselves depending on who we talk to. I see that is a beneficial chameleon-like quality of adapting to the person / people to better connect with them. With Adam, we're able to relate to various topics like trivia, sports, travel, geography, education, and others. I do find my tone changing when I speak to him and making more use of my growing vocabulary. One of the smartest people I know so I want to raise the standard of my knowledge, English, sports, etc. when I'm with him. I don't think I'm a different person entirely, but more of that side comes out when I'm with him. - the intellectual side. I think he really liked The Green, since it was a combination of literature and geography.
After dropping him off at the airport Sunday afternoon, helped out delivering 2U bags to customers that had been expecting them on Friday and needed them before Monday. While I was doing that, chatted with Hemanth for the first time in a few months. He was initially just calling about the website, but we got into a deeper convo about career, life, lifestyle, etc.
Pigged out twice after that at T Bell and Hazelnuts Creperie that day. Gonna be trying to reduce food intake this week to account for all the food that we had out this past weekend.
I also did get a bball, found a couple of decent places to shoot around so I'll have that option now as well whenever I feel like it. I also do eventually want to get back into playing pickup bball and pickup soccer.
Yesterday, I was mostly trying to get on track with my normal ideal routine, working out for the first time in a week or so. I might start spending more time at the office since I did shift around my desk and like the new layout and orientation. Did Shambhavi and celery juice for the first time in a while as well this morning as well as visualization yesterday. So getting back on track ahead of this next 1-2 weeks; the last 1-2 weeks of the quarter.
I'm excited to be going to the yurt in a week+ to review this previous quarter and plan for the next. I can sense some of the things I want to focus on next quarter so I'm eager to dive into them fully.
