So uhh...that was not the Super Bowl I was hoping for or I think anyone was expecting. Congrats to the Bucs & everyone in the organization on their great season. LeSean McCoy - back to back Super bowl champion. Maybe the 'Patriot Way' was Tom Brady and not Bill Belichick He brought it to the South & it worked. Maybe I should look more into Tom Brady's life, his competitiveness, his dedication, his accountability. Go deep into why he's so successful. I think in the past I despised him because he was always winning that I never asked why or understand what led to his success. I think that's a solid takeaway from the game. Also glad to see female ref there as representation & inspiration to all the little girls out there. Also happy for the female coaches on the Bucs staff - the first assistant coaches to win the Super Bowl. As for the actual game itself, Chiefs had no answer for the Bucs D-line the entire game. The 2 injuries to the tackles were big as Mahomes was running for his life literally from the first play. Yes the refs weren't helping the Chiefs but the Bucs woulda won with or without the refs. They were just better. They key moments in the game were when the Chiefs defense got 3- and 4-and-outs on Tampa's first 2 drives but only then scored 3 points off those. Bad start led to more pivotal moments going the Bucs way, like the offside on the FG. Inexcusable. Then the timeout / clock management by Andy Reid at the end of the half led to another TD. So instead of it being 10-6 at half, it was 21-6 & with all the momentum with the Bucs. The Bucs D-line could just tee off even more which led to Mahomes doing spins and throwing falling to the ground & running back 30 yards like people do on Madden. Chiefs definitely had the chance to come back but the game was essentially decided in the 1st half on those few key plays. Bucs were more disciplined, executed better & had more focus in the game.
The Bucs did their job. I must continue to do mine. This really doesn't impact me - one way of the other this doesn't change my decision making going forward. No more pizza on Sundays for a while now so that's healthy for my body & my wallet.
Edited & published all that I needed to do before the game so that was solid. Can I build momentum from this weekend with no apparent source? That's the question.
