What’s up?

If you’re reading this, I’m sorry you have nothing else to do but read my words.

But seriously, thank you for your attention.

As I’ve started documenting and sharing my journey publicly, a blog, in addition to a vlog and podcast among other things, was just the next logical, evolutionary step. I actually kinda enjoy writing so this’ll be fun for me, so I hope it’s enjoyable and/or insightful for you too.

So you’re asking, what is this guy gonna write about? What am I gonna find enjoyable or insightful hearing what he has to say? Well I can’t say if it is for you, but it has, is and hopefully will continue to be for me.

If you know me at all, or at least recently, I don’t intend on doing things the normal way. I’m always looking to do things differently, provide a unique perspective, ask questions no one else is asking, and even sometimes intentionally be on the less popular side of a discussion just to spark it.

And if you haven’t noticed, I’ve really leaned in to sharing my journey.

So how do I combine these aspects of myself in a blog?

What I’ve decided is that in the spirit of documenting my journey, instead of creating posts, I’m just going to post what I normally write to and with myself.

I keep talking about individually to friends or on a public platform about how I’ve really gotten into journaling this year as well as the “Aha!” moments I’ve experienced going deep within myself. So instead of just talking about them, why not just share them outright?!

Yes, I am going to share with you my actual journal. My thoughts, feelings, emotions, situations, experiences. The great, the good, the bad, the ugly, and frankly, the mundane. All of it!

Well, technically not ALL of it, but as much as I want to share so I don’t get texts from friends saying “WTF?! This is what you think of me??”

I may need to blank out or censor some sections that have personal topics that I don’t want to necessarily share (yet) online, but other than that, yes, all of it!

My plan is to take a picture of my journal so you can see my thoughts, not just read them. All the stuff that I crossed out, the emphasis on certain words through underlining or circling, the stream of consciousness topics that I know I want to write about but may not have had the time to right then but plan to at some point.

I saw a Netflix documentary that showed the lives of some revolutionary thinkers like Karl Marx, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Sigmund Freud. Regardless of whether you agree with them or not, the fact that when the show host held diaries and other possessions of these figures, I couldn’t help but have a feeling of awe that this was a part of that person’s journey to being so fundamental to future generations’ ways of thinking and life.

Now, I’m obviously not at that level, but wouldn’t it be cool even within my circle to have a similar feeling? You can feel like you are a part of my growth process!

Don’t worry, in addition to posting the picture of the entries, I’ll still type them out so you can actually read what I’m writing, since a lot of it may not be legible for you.

I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to just have those journal entries as standalone blog posts or also provide some context to it, so that’s TBD. I’ll probably end up doing a mix of both, just depending on how I feel about it.

I’m also not sure how often I’ll post, since I don’t want to be doing something that I don’t want to do. So I’ll just do what feels right and post when it feels right. And depending on the topic, I may or may not do podcasts on them so I can expand my thoughts if they’re not already such.

Some topics and commentary may be controversial but this is about documenting my growth, and I want to be as open as I can with the thoughts that I have. Maybe some of you might be having similar feelings, so I think it may be refreshing to hear a different perspective on things.

And if you do feel like sharing your thoughts with me on one of the topics or just in general, then I 100% welcome that. Let’s have that conversation! Hell, I might even invite you and make it an actual podcast with guests so we can have that discussion in a public forum, potentially allowing other people to gain insight from it as well.

So obviously, I didn’t journal all this so this won’t have an accompanying picture with it, but from here on out I envision most, if not all, of the posts having images of my actual journal.

I’m excited to share this process of learning, unlearning, and relearning in another format with you! I’m ready to be vulnerable and open myself to feedback, criticism, and discomfort as that’s the only way to achieve growth.
