There Is Only One Law | 4/4/21

Saturday, I spent the majority of the time doing project planning. Going through each of the projects I decided to make progress on in Q2 and built out all the tasks for the quarter. Spent the 1st half of the day mainly focusing on content projects. Some repetitive actions for recurring actions and content but it's good since I want to track for each individual piece of content that I want to publish.

After lunch, focused on the bigger scale projects like education, financial portfolio and my network expansion. These are things that definitely don't have a definitive conclusion this quarter. But I am setting the foundation for future and long term success with what I'm focusing on with these projects. More to come in the podcast series (plural) as well as my newsletter.

Was in beast mode / sprint mode for the rest of the time at the yurt as my only real breaks were eating and sleeping. Finished up the project plans for all 16 projects I'd ideally work on this quarter this morning. Then said goodbye to the yurt, packed up and was on my way back when not even a full minute on the drive back I had a flat tire. Don't think I really had any emotions regarding that. Was pretty equanimous and proceeded pretty quickly to deciding what my options are. Ended up calling a tow truck b/c I wasn't sure if my spare tire was good enough to drive on. But many of the places were closed today, combined with the fact that it's Easter. But about 90 min later, the truck came. He took a look at the tire and said it was as good as a normal one so he put it on in about 10 in and I was on my way. He had a confederate hat on was actually with his wife. He's about as southern as you can get lol. She mentioned that they had gone to a monster jam yesterday, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Trying to figure out what the imprint was that caused the flat tire. Could it be the same thing as the causes to when I injure myself like a stubbed toe or paper cut? Just a more substantial result. Hmm idk rn.

Something related it that at the yurt, there was a shared notebook that guests can write in. I read a few of the entries the previous guests had written. Many couples who loved the time to get away, so we shared that sentiment. I ended up writing about a page, which included the 'only one' quote by Swami. I forget that He said in there that 'There is only one law, the law of Karma.' So it was fitting that whatever was the cause, the result was the flat tire. But the other metaphor and microcosm here is that things can be rocky at the start of anything. It might take a while for things to get going, but eventually, they'll be going at full speed. So I better be ready for when that time arrives.

Oh, in those 90 or so minutes, I tried to be productive as I did both of my journals for a bit of that time.

One of the bigger picture things is I felt at peace throughout this weekend. I thought to myself 'how do I do this more often than just once every 3 months?' Why doesn't everyone do this??! The productivity was at peak performance. Was thinking of doing it once a month perhaps but that would be a significant hit financially. I can do once a quarter for now with my current budget and then when I have more to invest, I can invest in this. So much more clarity than if I had any other outside distractions. I did respond to messages and social media so not truly unplugged but it was batched so it took a minimum amount of time and energy. I'm amazed at how I lived life thus far without doing anything like this before! Now I probably can't not do this!

Also writing most of this in Optimist Hall. I guess someone noticed me writing and she accosted me asking if I was a writer. I said essentially no but that I like to journal and unlock my creative side. It was some Indian aunty who has some Hindi poetry published as well as a Hindi poetry book. I did manage to get her name as well as the title (but it was in Hindi so I butchered trying to type that into Amazon, embarrassing myself in the process). But 2 things I learned immediately from this interaction. 1) I want to read and write in public more. Can give me creative inspiration as well as be a conversation starter if anyone does approach me. And 2) "Am I a writer?" she asked. I said no. But if I actually think about it, I am! I'm a blog writer. I'm a podcast host. I'm a vlogger. I'm a content creator. I'm a bold idea generator. I'm a visionary. I'm all those things and more! So next time someone asks me "Am I a writer?" I'm going to say "Yes," unequivocally, "among many other things!"
