What Is Indecisiveness Really? | 7/12/21

Fun weekend with Jaspreet as he came to Charlotte as we made this my birthday weekend lol. Had a lot of types of food on Saturday, going from brunch at Haberdish to afternoon snack at Optimist (Bao & Broth and Botiwalla) to evening snack at Grand Bohemian Hotel rooftop to dinner at home with leftover pizza from Toppers from the previous night. Mac Tabby Cat Cafe was pretty relaxing just playing with the little kittens. At night, we played a game of Pan Am, which he came back in the last round and won 30-28. On Sunday, I was able to do most of my normal morning routine, and even had my fastest 3.3 mile run pace at 7:05. On the right track to getting that under 7:00 and then finding a ~4 mile course I can do and then get that under 7:00 and so on. I'm glad that I don't just talk about my morning routine when I'm with folks but can also actually live it when I'm around others. That'll be the opportunity for me to grow from next. As I'm traveling, spending time with others, how well can I commit and stick to the process that's yielded me tangible and intangible results?

On Sunday, mostly just hung out at home watching Wimbledon finals, and the Euro finals (with a game of Pan Am that I won 31-29) in between as we ate Oh My Soul for lunch. Feel bad for Adam as England were so close and even up in PKs but couldn't close out Italy. There was not only hate being thrown at the English players that missed, but racist insults and threats. Obviously and unequivocally, that's not good. That being said, I think it's for the greater good in the long run as people from all over the world can see some people's true character when in an unideal situation. That'll help society address these issues and come together.

The other thing I was thinking about yesterday was indecisiveness. I think indecisiveness is one of those things that drains my energy compared to creating it. Having things up in the air doesn't let me have a set schedule. There's no alignment in time. When things are ambivalent with respect to time, I can't have focus within that time frame because I don't know how long that time frame is. I can't create plans or focus on what I want to do after. When something is on the calendar, follow it (not to self as well, obviously). Indecisiveness is a form of short-term multitasking as you're trying to figure out what you want to do with your time and energy. Indecisiveness is a lack of focus and creates an imprint of not getting something done because you don't know what 'done' means. So as it relates to my 6 Time book of finishing strong, being decisive with my time and energy is a vital part of that.
