What Is Our 150 Year Plan? | 7/15/21

Wednesday, consumed another 10 pages of Wooden as well as ~15 min of another video within Robin Sharma's Success Mastery University course. Similar theme of doing the small things really well to be successful in life in general, and specifically in whatever you do. There are no secrets to success. Success is actually super simple and easy. Just do good things consistently. LOL. That's it. And at the end, we'll look back at the life we lived and proud of it. One good question that Sharma asked was "Imagine it was yesterday and the doctor told you you had one day left to live. How would you feel?" It's a slight change of phrasing from the more commonly asked version of this, which can potentially elicit a slightly different answer and perspective.

The other really good question was this: What is our 150 year plan? We always, or at least should, ask ourselves what's our 1 year, 3 year, 5 year, 10, 20, maybe even 50 year plan. Usually it stops there because life is not guaranteed for even tomorrow, let alone 50 years from now. But it's such a crazy and mind-boggling question it forces us to think outside the constraints of our single life. It makes our life a piece, but not the only piece, of this plan. Sets our foundation for how we envision our legacy, family, communities, and society unfolding.

Similar on the customer experience side with out of 5 stars, what is an 11 star experience? We set the ultimate experience and then cut down on what we don't need until we land on the essentials to strive for maybe a 7 star customer experience. And if we fall short, it's still a 5 star experience from the customer's perspective. Let's aim for that 150 years and work towards it. And if we fall short, we've still had a full 6 or 7 star life experience in 70-80 years.

The world is changed by those who envision a new reality we can live in. They are the ones who have a vision of what the future could look like and they don't wait for it to happen. They create their future by doing the good things consistently.
