Why Do I Want To Change People’s Way of Thinking? | 10/16/22

Why do I want to change people’s way of thinking?

For people who are open-minded enough, yes. That’s what the most remembered people in history have in common. They shared their ideas with the world in the best ways they expressed themselves. Books, talks, movies, religions, businesses, standing up for what they believed in, etc.

I’m attached to my legacy. I worry too much about what people think of me. People I know, people I don’t know, people who aren’t even alive yet. I should be more focused on helping those who are right in front of me who need my help.

People’s thoughts are what makes them, their world, their reality. If I can shift their way of thinking that better serves them, then that’s a way for them to realize more of their potential. It’s still from an egoistic space though. To know and desire people’s thoughts were impacted because of me.

Can I have this desire without at least a bit of the ego involved? And is that fine, if so? Without the ego involved, why would I want to change anyone else’s way of thinking? Couldn’t I just theoretically be living without wanting to actively change others’ thought patterns?

If people ask me for my thoughts, I’ll gladly share them. But what about seeking those actively who I want to bring into my business? The people who I will start working with are already in my circle. I don’t have the barrier of trust to overcome.

I think my conclusion right now is because I want to help people realize their potentially, and more selfishly, to leave a legacy.

That ego may always be there. I don’t think I can dissolve or eliminate the ego just by theorizing about it. It has to be through action. Through service.

It’s also not ‘eliminating the ego’, per se. It’s about filling up with love. Ego is just the absence of love.

Changing other’s mindset is also a gift I have, I think. Inspiring others through my action and words. It would mean that I actualize my potential as well.
