Why do I want to inspire action in my career?
We learn about ourselves through action. And I have to take more action.
Great that I started writing this before my coaching call with Langston. The theme from that was ‘get in the game.’ There’s no amount of theorizing that can replace action. I just have to continue reaching out to people on my list to book calls. That’s the main thing right now. What will allow me to book as many discovery calls as possible? Everything should directly lead to and optimize for that.
To answer the question, is it because it’s something that I’ve lacked in my life? I never really executed stuff at Capgemini. Action was something I learned at 2U. What it actually looks like. Everyone leans toward action here. I’ve experienced doing action at 2U.
But not just any action. Aligned action. Aimless action is what people tend to do. Just a bit of direction. Action gets them closer to realizing their potential.
Can you realize your ‘full’ potential without taking any action? I think in this age, we actually can’t. It’s taking the universal knowledge that we have and actually applying it. I think it would actually almost be a misappropriation of our potential if we were “self-realized” and didn’t share it with others.
Is that even possible? I think inspiring others might be inherent in being self-realized. Is that selfish?
In the past, it was enough to meditate and become self-realized. There wasn’t a need to share it. Others weren’t ready.
I think now it’s imperative that realized souls inspire others. Head in the forest, hands in society. To help others realize their potential. Selfishly, it makes me feel good too. Definitely some ego there. I think it’s healthy though.
