'Yea, But He Did It' | 3/5/21

Again, nothing special about yesterday. Did wake up at 3:30 and got some personal and business work done before I started my normal morning routine a little later in the morning. Meetings most of the work day, after which I did the journal entry project. Have recorded 6+ hours of audio for all the entries since about last June, so it'll be crazy to listen into if I ever do. Still have about a month's worth of audio to record so looking to finish that up today. Then I'll have picture, audio, and text for all my written journal entries.

I decided yesterday also that I will run a half marathon today after work! It's been about 5 months since I had run my first (and only) one so the weather is nice enough. No more excuses! Might need to bring a snack on the run as some quick fuel on it. Let's aim to get below the time I got last time of about ~9:50 pace or so.

A point that Rajiv Satyal brought up in the podcast episode was about how he was talking to his mom one day telling her that all Deepak Chopra is 'is a Cliff Notes on the Mahabharata. Anyone can do that. I can do that.' His mom answered 'Yea, but he did it.' Which can be so powerful. There are so many ideas and initiatives that are waiting to be explored, started and implemented that anyone can do it, but who actually does do it is the question. Everyone knows working out, meditation, eating healthy, journaling are good habits, but who actually makes time (not has time) to do them? Being busy - Idk if I fully believe in that phrase. If something is truly important, people have time. They're just intentionally / unintentionally prioritizing other things. The key here is 'Am I intentionally prioritizing the things I want to be investing my time and energy into?' If yes, then I go from the person who can do it to the person who did it.

Couple of imprint hypotheses I thought about in the past day. Are we setting the imprint of continuing to be late on due dates and tasks and Key Results, etc. because we are late to meetings and run over time for them? Being late or overdue in the micro is leading to being late or overdue in the macro. We have to be more punctual in general, aware of time and respect it. Only then can our timelines be respected.

Other conjecture is is the reason my speech can be choppy and stuttery a lot of the time because my handwriting can be messy, illegible, and attempting to connect disparate thoughts cohesively but failing to do so? Ineffective written communication leads to ineffective oral communication. So let's improve my handwriting, have more clarity of what I'm writing before I actually pen those words. Maybe my verbal communication can improve as a result. Let's see
